PennyStocking Silver Review

First things first, Tim’s claim to fame is turning his bar mitzvah money into over $4 million in profits now.  And in the last few years he has been teaching people how to trade his strategy.  In doing so he has already created 2 millionaire students.  This is how I first heard of him – I saw a story about Tim Grittani turning a few thousand into a million dollars.

Since Tim has started teaching he has created tons of material to learn from.  He suggests also getting his DVD’s (PennyStocking Part Deux is supposed to be the best) but also has a ton of video lessons.  I think the best part about the Penny Stocking Silver subscription is the access to Tim’s video library.  He is closing in on 2,000 videos (over 160 hours) available to watch and learn his strategy.  Tim sends these out most days and they explain what trades Tim took and more importantly why.  This is huge in learning his strategy; you see the setup, when he bought/shorted and how the play ended up.  I find the more recent videos the most useful, because I have experienced those plays and saw how they turned out live.  I have more of a connection to them, and the lesson to be learned feels more real.    I can also compare what I was thinking to what Tim was thinking.  Over time you start to seeing charts and plays how Tim saw it.  The frequency of the videos is great because it feels like your always learning and getting better.  You can find your mistake if you made one or confirm why you were right.

This is a great cheaper option to becoming a millionaire challenge student.  I am not a challenge student, but you get all the same video lessons.  The advantage of being a challenge student is the live trading webinars.  2 a week, typically one from Tim and one from Michael Goode and Tim Grittani does some as well.  It would be nice to see exactly what Tim is looking at, but I use a different trading platform anyways and they look slightly different.  Would be cool if Tim released one or two to give everyone a taste of what we are missing.  But if your not sure you want to join the challenge or not, this is the best introduction to start learning his strategy.  You can always upgrade to become a challenge student and get more of Tim’s time.

If your not anticipating Tim’s plays, you will be chasing all his alerts.  You are then in a race to get into a play with all his subscribers.  Your entry will be above Tim’s so your gains will be less than his.  So don’t expect to have the same returns Tim does just because you are playing the same stocks as him.  It is not his goal to have you simply follow him, he wants you to develop into your own trader.  This mean finding stocks on your own that fit his strategy.  Or if something on his watchlist is setting up, buy it before Tim does.  If you know his strategy then you can anticipate what he will buy and get in before him (Tim rarely buys before 2 or even 3).

Tim’s chat is usually very large and is fast paced even though Tim only takes a few trades.  This is where Tim posts his trades live, and I suggest being in the room because his alert is seen there before it arrives on your phone.  Both of Tim’s millionaire students are moderators (Michael Goode and Tim Grittoni).  Michael trades more actively than Tim and you can also follow along with him.  There are always tons of people posting their positions and also asking other people why they entered a certain trade.  It is hard to get a response from Tim in here though because of all the noise and he has another room dedicated to his millionaire challenge students.

Super Alerts Review

Superman has some truly explosive trades.  It is amazing the returns he get on some of his picks.  I’ve seen it, he really does find momentum before it happens.  I like how he has 3 distinct types of trades.  Daytrades, Swing trades, and chart plays.  When he makes a trade he will let you his intentions/reasoning behind the type of trade it is.  You can predict some of his moves this way because everything on his watchlists are also labeled the same way.  This is how you start to learn his strategy.  Pull up the chart to see what he sees(he explains how he sets up his charts), then start digging into what the company does and what catalyst from the chat it falls into.

I only have super alerts vs super pro subscription.  If I were to go back to when I bought the service, I would chose the pro level membership.  I have seen a few of the videos he creates for those members and they are very good.  Superman releases a few of these to all members(how I’ve seen a couple) and they help explain his strategy and how to get better entries and exits in your trades.

The chat in his room is great.  His moderators have great suggestion and do tons of research on small cap stocks.  If there is a possible theme brewing in the world, such as the recent Ebola vaccine plays, someone in the room will have effected stocks picked out already.  With their insights you can be in the stock early and have a killer average price.  Then watch it catch on over the next week or so.  RichJr and Incredibletrade seem to always be on fire.  They are always looking for the next catalyst and sector to heat up and buy in before the crowds. RichJr many times will pick his stocks with the specific mindset that they are going to double, very fun to see what goes into this.

Superman also plays some options.  I do not know enough about them to even attempt to play them so I stay away.  I have heard great things about the videos available to super pro members done by Helmsman (another mod).  This is another reason it would have been worth it to go with the pro subscription.  He also covers new stocks about to IPO.  These have been running really hot(think GPRO and LOCO) and Superman has a lot of great insights like who brings them public and their track record.

Superman keeps his chat clean and respectful for all members.  He also will not babysit you and just feed you answers.  If there is something you can find on your own, he will not let you use him a crutch.  This is why he calls himself a tough coach, that and he expects you to follow his trading rules.  Rules such as locking in profits, minimizing losses, not boredom trading, ect.  If you don’t follow them, Superman will end up throwing his headset(NFL coaching reference).  Alerts are timely in the room and give you the big picture idea for plays.

Since I’ve been asked before – In my opinion Superman may be the most honest Guru on profitly.  I say this because he never buys into or sells into his subscribers.  I have seen him take losses because he didn’t want to flip a position fast.  He all but told anyone that also to take the trade to get out before exits.

Investors Underground Review

This review is my experience in the IU chat and community.  I have not fully utilized all the features offered.  I have mainly just stuck to the momentum room.  For those that don’t know, you get access to 3 rooms with IU.  The momentum room, OTC/sub pennies room, and a swing room.  You also get Nate’s watchlist and Muddy’s momentum scan included.

The momentum room – by far the biggest of the 3.  Before I forget I should mention you can be in all 3 at the same time if you want.  This is also the fastest moving room.  The alerts come in fast and furious-never a shortage of ideas to act on.  This room is where Nate posts his trades and explains his plan.  He also posts commentary on his trades such as warnings when not trade if your new or key areas to watch for support/resistance break.  This is also the room that trader530 posts breaking news.  His alerts are great because he is so fast, you can get in on the front side of moves if you act fast.  There is always a ton of volume coming on the news he posts.

OTC/subber room – Run by mountaintrades.  Slower pace room than momentum and I have not spent much time in here.  Personal preference to stay away from most OTC stocks because I like to be able to get out of a position fast.  I have struggled to get my order filled on a few OTC stocks and had my order skipped over, so I mostly stay clear.  Also know it is slower in the summer, so will be popping in more in coming months.  I would say there are usually 75 – 100 people in this room when I’ve checked it out.  There are a bunch of good traders in here besides mountaintrades – main one that I reach out to that comes to mind is modernrock.  If you don’t know who he is, I suggest at least checking out his twitter.

Swing trader chat – run by offshorehunter.  I keep telling myself that I need to start paying more attention to this room.  I like how it is run, like OTC room has a more relaxed feel to it, and they post charts of what they are looking at and areas they are interested in each stock.  This is also the room that is most like Superman’s room because he is a swing trader.  So in here instead of the alerts being a ticker and an entry price, there is a link to a chart showing the view she(or member posting) is looking at and seems to be a great way to learn what set ups she likes to trade.   I have not reached out to her like I have some of the other mods (mainly momentum room) but will be doing so soon.  I am starting to go over some of her webinars and like her teachings and trading strategy.

This leads me to the what I feel is the best part of Investors Underground.  The other members.  There are a lot of successful traders in the room and they have all been happy to help and answer any questions I throw their way.  None of the other traders have ignored a message I have sent them.  They have been through the early days of a trading career and have some great insight into what helped them reach the next level.  They have been happy to explain what they saw when they entered a trade and their plan.  But the person I have reached out to most often is Nate himself.  I message him everyday with a few questions that I have throughout the day.  He has always answered them all and he responds really fast too.  I expected him to be tied up watching his trades and slow to answer but that is yet to be the case.

One more thing I want to mention about being a member of IU chat is the webinars.  This is the time to ask Nate any question you have about trading or a previous play.  He goes over any chart to show you what he saw and why he traded a stock the way he did.  Michele also does webinars to help shed light on her strategy and trading.  Best part is they are recorded and posted for members to view anytime.  So its not a huge deal if you miss it live, you can still learn from other members questions.  The webinars are a more interactive version of the video lessons (screen capture trade recap) Nate does for Investors Underground Elite members.

Textbook Trading DVD review

I was reluctant to buy the DVD because of the price tag and really didn’t know very much about Nate.  Heard it was worth the money and when I saw it on sale with a trial for his chat I decided to buy it.  Cheaper than a bad loss and got the opportunity to see what inverstorsunderground is all about.  I figured I knew a decent amount about day trading by now (few months in Tim Sykes’ chat and also Superman’s-reviews coming) but I ended up learning a lot watching this DVD.  Nate breaks it down very simply at the beginning in case you do not have any previous knowledge or experience trading.

The main thing that opened my eyes first time watching was how to set risk.  Before I was choosing how much of a stock to by from its price.  I would say I’ll put $2,000 into this stock, its $10/share so I would buy 200 shares and manage the trade from there.  Not knowing exactly when to get out if it went against me.  After watching the DVD it completely changed my approach and I know how much I’m risking per trade.  I now have a good spot to cut it off and keep my losers in control.  I know going into a trade I am risking a loss of $50 if I am wrong and nothing more.  This also helped me realize it is ok to be wrong and to just move onto the next one because my losing trades don’t hurt as much as before.

Nate also gave me a new pattern to be on the watch for – ABCD setup.  I had seen it played out over and over before, but didn’t have a way to explain it or be ready to capitalize on it.  This is a great setup with a solid risk vs reward, most importantly the set risk I lacked in my trading previously.

Nate is good about explaining what types of trades to focus on if you’re new.  Hint – if he says not for new traders, leave them alone until you've seen it many times.  Prove to yourself you have a good understanding of his other trade setups and can execute them consistently.  Only after would I suggest trying the riskier plays like parabolic shorts.  On that note I would wait and watch it play out multiple times in chat before using any real money.  The plays that are easiest for new traders to catch are ABCD and late day fades.

I liked how Nate goes over his setup in the DAS platform.  He shows you exactly what he is looking at and how to set it up on your own computer.  I set mine up like his, but to track 2 tickers instead of the 3 he does.  I have a smaller screen and 3 looks too small for me.  Without Nate going over this, I would not have opened a suretrader account.  He recommends them in the chapter he goes over a few brokers, but a walk through on how a successful trader set it up is what gave me the push to give it a try.

Finally this DVD helped out with creating a watchlist and plan for the next day.  I struggled to create watchlists before.  I had some help from Tim, but he looks for very specific plays.  I am trying to be a full-time trader and like to push more buttons.  Nate helped identify patterns setting up from the daily charts.  I didn’t think about what the wicks really meant and looked like intraday before he spelled it out.  Also what to look for in a gap play – PDT friend because you buy at end of day and can sell at open next day and not using a day trade.  I limit my watchlists to stocks under $15 or $20 because I have a small account and can’t afford the bigger stocks.  Now I have something specific to watch for with every ticker on my watchlist.  I tend to favor the red to green setup because it is easy to identify and seems to give most small cap/micro cap stocks a good pop.  Also easy to identify on the daily chart it has a history of doing this.

Check out Nate’s DVD - here or here

I love how approachable Nate is in the chat and how helpful he is.  He always answers any questions I have and has helped guild me in trades I wasn’t sure to get out of or not.  I will create a review of IU chat later.  I will do a review for everything I mentioned in here-hoping to get it done in the next week or two.  (Superman’s chat, Tim’s chat, investors underground chat, ect)
